Dance Machine

Ever since Dylan starting taking her dance class (we call it Super Fun Dance class) she has really starting expressing herself through movement.  Now, we never expected her to get down to the Hawaii Five O theme song, but it sure makes for a memorable routine!

Soggy Pumpkin Girl

Another great pumpkin carving year at the Rockin' Circle C ranch - a little wet but one little girl had a great time AND was super proud of her little pumpkin!  Thanks for the photo Liz.

Last Night I Had A Dream

Before Dylan was born I had a dream that I had given birth.  The doctors had to put me under so when I woke I asked if I could see my baby.  They handed me a baby girl whom was a bit older than a newborn with  long blonde hair.  The nurse informed me that I had actually had two babies and that my son was across the room getting cleaned up so I couldn't see him yet - the dream ended before I ever met him.

Last night I had a dream I was standing in our kitchen facing the stove.  I heard the sound of little feet coming from the hall way, I looked up expecting to see Dylan but instead I saw a little boy, slightly younger than Dylan is now, he had short blonde hair a black batman t-shirt on and completely naked from the waist down.  He looked like he had just woken up but was very comfortable with his surroundings - as if he lived here.

Verdict is still out - any guesses?  9 more weeks....

Mi Familia

For the past few weeks Dylan has been learning about families at preschool. Last week they got to take care of baby dolls, today they made baby food.  So great that she's getting prepared for the new little one.

Last week the kids made pictures of their families - here's Dylan's photo of her's.  Apparently her Papa is very dirty (must be after a bike race), Mama's head is popping off and her clothes are a little too small (very true for both these days), Dylan has very big beautiful eyes, long blonde hair, and likes to wear dresses (true), and her new baby has no facial features yet, hair color could either be blonde or red AND likes to wear dresses (although Dylan still says she doesn't mind either a brother or a sister).  Nice job Dylan I think you've done a very accurate job describing your family.  And I thought it was interesting that she's put the baby outside my belly and part of the family.

Starcross 2012

Yes another bike race last Sunday.  Big cyclocross race out at Marymoore park in Redmond.  Dylan and I raced over (Matt was already there) to make it by 3:30 for the kids event.  When we got there we discovered the kids race was already going on - it started early!  We quickly found Matt and Dylan jumped in anyway and still had fun but words of warning to Zac & Terry, the sponsors of the race, someone has a few words for you for starting early "Those darn guys for starting early!  NO FAIR!!!  Don't do it again!"  Out of the mouth of a serious racer.

State BMX Strider Champion!

This past weekend was Cousin Jackson's 9th birthday - happy birthday Jackson! He had a super fun party at the BMX State Championships in Sumner.  We made the trek out and join all the family (as everyone was out to cheer Jackson on).  Well you can't go to a bike race these days without a little someone wanting to do the kids race.  So we loaded up the new helmet, the bike, the super fast socks, Auntie Beans & Poppy, a ton of food and off we went.  In BMX racing the races are done in motos so there are actually several races for a ride in a day.  In the Strider (aka kids race) there were three.  Here she is lining up and checking out her competition.

Dylan won 1st in two motos and 2nd in the last.  Placing is done by points so since D won two out of three that put her in first place!  At the end of the race she was given a stick with 1st place on it to take to the trophy wagon.  So we get to the trophy wagon, Dylan hands the woman her 1st place stick and says, I kid you not "I'll take the biggest you got."  And she got it - the trophy is as big as she is!

"I love this trophy!"  And she carried it proudly back to the family tent, slept with it last night, AND we had breakfast with it this morning.  I'm thinking it's now part of the family and will soon be needing it's own carseat.

So proud of herself, which she should be.  We can now say we have the State BMX Strider Champion living with us - along with a super big trophy!

Skateboard Queen

Here's Dylan Skateboarding in the back alley.

"My Cousin Jackson And My Cousin Horse Dewey"

Here's a few photos from our visit out at Rockin' Circle C Ranch. We were dropping off G-ma Montana, who so kindly came to help watch Dylan this past week while I was working.  G-ma and D had a great time together.  Dylan wasn't in the photo mood so no pictures with G-ma this time but we did get a few out at the farm with Cousin Jackson, Uncle Ben, Dewey, and the goaties.  Thank you G-ma for coming and helping out - always great having you around!

Cyclocross Race Season Has Begun

Well it's bike racing season.  Dad's at it and so is D.  Here's a race from a few weekends back.

After the race we ran into our friends who just had their baby.  Baby Astrid is 4 weeks old in this picture.  Andrew and Mo were very kind in letting Dylan hold her.  It totally made her day.  So sweet.  Dylan says "Hey mom, look I'm getting in some big sister practice!"

Astrid started to get a little fussy so Dylan pulled out some of her funny faces and it worked, crying stopped.  Nice job Dylan.

Last weekend was a race at Lake Sammamish Park.  Here's Dylan supporting her new bike helmet - her head got smaller and her old one was a little too floppy to be safe anymore.  D was so excited about her new helmet that she wore it all the way to the race.  She was a little cold so G-ma Montana (who was visiting) gave her her sweatshirt.

The coarse was a bit big on this one so it was hard to catch pictures of her.  Here's a few of D going over the hurtles.
