60mph Plus

It's been fun to watch Dylan's crawl progress. She's now at top speeds. My radar gun is down at the moment but I believe she's up to 60mph 'cause she can get from one room to another in no time flat. The other day we (Dylan, Maggie, and I) were all playing in the living room. Matt came home and whistled - Dylan and Maggie's ear perked up and wham, they were on the move towards the back door. It's really cute to watch. Matt can whistle from anywhere in the house and Dylan (and Maggie) will be on the move to find him.

Here's a little video I shot this morning of Dylan crawling at tops speeds. If you listen closely you can here her little hand slap the ground, which cracks me up, as she's flying into the kitchen for her sippy cup. I also caught some advanced furniture climbing skills. Go Dylan!

9 Month Check Up

A new day and a whole bunch of new tricks! She's crawling on all fours - getting faster every day, able to take furniture on as though she's rock climbing, 4 teeth - able to chew just about anything put in front of her, standing on her own - that is until she remembers that she just let go of something and quickly grabs for it again, totally eating adult food - doesn't really want anything to do with baby food anymore, talking up a storm - swore she said doggie twice the other day, and is walking behind her new wagon like a champ.

For her 9 month check up she's weighing in at 23lbs 12 oz (85%), measuring in at 30 inches (88%), and her noggan is at 46.2cm (68%). Doc says she's ahead of her age group in development and that she's looking great! Nice work little one, perhaps you can slow down a little now so that your momma can catch up with you!

Here We Go....

Today Dylan's 8 months old ~ awe 8 months! And today lil miss d learned how to use her arms to pull herself around. Here's the start of buttoning down the hatches! Our girl is on the move.

Here, There, And On The Verge Of Everywhere....

Our girl is getting very mobile these days. Not crawling yet but being very creative in getting around to what she wants. She's spotting things and beam~linin' for them and like most kids is going straight for everything you don't want her to get into. Dylan's getting up on all fours but hasn't figured out the crawling thing yet - I say "yet" 'cause it's going to be any day that the hatches will have to be buttoned down. No more leaving her quietly to play on the floor while you grab a cup of joe in the kitchen, 'cause if you do lil missy is gone. Here's a day in the life of Dylan....

"What's that?"

"Hi mom."

"Oh just sitting here playing with Sophie the giraffe."

"Okay now I'm going to roll over."

"Now I'm under the chair... oh wait newspaper..."

"Coolest shoes my dad bought me"

"Kicking off the coolest shoes my dad bought me."

"Tasting the coolest shoes my dad bought me."

"Oh yum, mom's shoes."

"What's that?"

"Now I'm going to roll over here and check out things."

"Hummmm, what's in here?"

"Hello Santa? Are you up there?"

"And back to the newspapers, maybe I'll read the sports page."

All of this in 20 minutes time. Oh boy!
