Ever since Dylan starting taking her dance class (we call it Super Fun Dance class) she has really starting expressing herself through movement. Now, we never expected her to get down to the Hawaii Five O theme song, but it sure makes for a memorable routine!

HEAVEN
Oh someone was in HEAVEN last night. Not only did she get to rock out with all her girlfriends to her idol, Caspar Babypants but she got her photo with him after the show. You can clearly see how giddy she was - notice hand sweetly on his neck and huge grin.

A Couple of Groupies
Today Dylan and I met our friends, Olive, Momma Kelly, and Baby Clover at the Beacon Hill Library for a special Caspar Babypants performance. Dylan and Olive are couple of groupies for sure. They were the first to stand up and dance, and last to leave! The girls were in heaven! Dylan's friend Ella was there as well and join the girls for a few songs. The girls started about 1/2 way back but worked their way up front in no time. At one point I could hear Dylan yelling the lyrics to a song. It was a fun show and the girls had a fabulous time!
Video's coming soon.

West Fest - Caspar Babypants
This past weekend was the West Seattle Street Festival and you should have heard the shrieks coming from one little girls mouth when she caught wind that Caspar Babypants was performing Friday night! So after work we quickly had dinner and headed up the street. It didn't take long for Dylan to wiggle her way to the front of the toddler moshpit - yes, that's her front and center with the big ol' smile on her face.
After a few songs the moshpit decided to rush the stage - and look out toddlers everywhere!
Dylan was in all her dancing glory! Big smile on her face the entire time. A few times she came and found me to tell me what song Caspar was playing, just in case I wasn't paying attention. Later that night Matt caught up with us and Dylan says to him "Dad, I just saw my favorite performer ever!".

Meet Princess and Princess Dylan
Okay a little blurry but you get the picture. Meet Princess and Princess Dylan. Princess aka Sammi is Dylan best Little Gym buddy. We recently got her mom to sign her up for Dylan's "super fun dance class" and now the two are a hoot. Totally over dressed for the class but both had to wear their dresses! Sammi started introducing herself and Little Gym as Princess and all on her own Dylan named herself Princess Dylan. This little ballerina number d's wearing is a present from Miles & Gia and is her FAVORITE dance outfit. I do have to say she looks adorable in it.

First Dance Class
Today we tried out a new really fun dance class and Dylan loved it! Now that we are over naps there is a whole other part of the day we are trying to fill.

Half way through the class D came running up to me and said "Hey Mom, all the other girls are wearing skirts.". Luckily Dylan had packed a bag of ballet clothes which we left in the car, so I ran out quickly and grabbed a skirt - so she could be just like everyone else! Close one!

Okay so I think Dylan might have a little "McBride" uncoordination in her bones - sorry girl! But she was able to pull it together.

"Like A Teenager At A Michael Jackson Concert"
The other day Dylan and I went to see Caspar Babypants preform at our local community center. Dylan has been listening to Caspar Babypants since she was a peanut. She has every cd he has out and is one of his biggest fans. So when I found out he was playing here in West Seattle we were there! We nabbed great seats on the floor and got ready to rock out with our friends. As soon as the music started Dylan began cheering, clapping, dancing, and hooting like to quote my friend's husband 'Dylan looks like a teenager at a Michael Jackson concert'. I thought that summed it up perfectly! She was one crazy fan, for sure! And of course everyone around us was cracking up!

D danced so hard that she had to take a snack break. As she snacked she noticed the babies around her looked hungry so she took it upon herself to feed them pretzels - only the babies mind you!

Dad's Music Video - More, More, More
So I know I already posted how Dylan loves to watch her Dad's music video he shot for a band called the Beads. But now the funny thing is every time we passed by my computer Dylan points and moves her arms up and down - it's one of those moments that only a mom knows what her kids wants, and in this case it means - "Mom can I watch Dad's video?". So I play it for her, she gets really excited when it starts up - arms moving up and down really fast. She knows all the parts now, like when Maggie comes on - she points, then she starts to wave in the scene just before the one with the little girl waving, and right before it ends Dylan's already signing for more. It's really funny to watch her. She loves it. Finally I had to tell her 'all done, no more' which she signed back 'all done'. When Matt came home from work I told him to watch Dylan watch the video - just so he could see how much she loves it. And of course when it ended instead of signing 'more' she shook her hands meaning 'all done, no more' - which I had to laugh about, at least she's a fast learner!

Woodland Park Zoo
More fun adventures with Auntie Beans. We had a break in the rain so we headed to the Woodland Park Zoo. We thought Dylan would like to see all the animals but I must admit I think she liked watching all the kids watching the animals more. We arrived right in the mists of a school field trip so might I say it was a bit of a zoo (ha!).
After walking around the zoo we decided to make a little stop at the Zoomania Playcenter. We arrived right in time for "Shake, Rattle, & Roll" - they bring out a box of rattles and shakers and play music. Dylan danced around loading her arms with shakers.

Right as we were about to leave a huge peacock and goatie came out to say goodbye.

Dad's Music Video
Matt just got done directing a music video. The other morning, over breakfast, Dylan and I took a look. Guess it's safe to say she liked it as she danced all the way through it.

Dylan's Got Rhythm and Soul
This morning over breakfast Dylan and I had a dance party. Miss D has always responded to music, she loves it. Her latest is busting out some dance moves. The other day Matt, Dylan, Maggie, and I were walking to the store. Matt had D in the Baby Bjourn. I started singing a little song and out of now where Dylan started shaking her head and moving her arms and legs - she was busting out some great moves. It cracked us up! Now when she hears music, or if I sing to her, she starts shaking her head. I've been trying to recorded it for days but she's been a bit shy in front of the camera. So this morning over breakfast we were listening to some music and I was able to catch some of her moves. Although it's a bit dark (I know better than to shoot into the light) but what are you going to do when the girl's rocking out! Just have to warn you that the video you are about to watch is hilariously cute!

Dancin' Machine

Today Dylan was playing on her fun time mat while I was in the kitchen. I heard her giggling and playing. Then I heard her music box come on - she's learned how to hit the box to make the music come on and the starts dancing away. Everyday we have music time - her favorites are Johnny Cash, Bob Marley, Wilco, Caspar Babypants, Johnny Bregar - just to name a few. I play her all kinds.

Rockin' The Vintage Booties

Dancing with my little vintage booties - my mom's had these tucked away for me for many many years, saving them for just the right moment. Can't wait 'til I'm big enough for the vintage cowgirl boot collection - you'll all have to watch for those. Just like my parents I already have a large shoe collection.... A girl loves her shoes.
