First Food & Fast Friends

Once upon a time there was a little girl who was about to partake on to her first food. She eyed a magical banana and willed into her belly. 'Little banana get into my belly' she said. And with that wish the magical banana was in her belly. 'Now' she said 'how am I going to get clean? That banana got all over my face.' And with that wish a furry fairy god dog came down and licked her clean.

This is how the meal began

'hum, I think I'll lick here' said the fairy god dog

'And here, and here, and a little over here'. And soon the little girl was all cleaned up.

The end.

Darth Vader in the House

Awe, Dylan has her first cold. Guess we've been very lucky that it's waited this long - all in all we're still pretty darn lucky as she's laughing all the way through it. She's been making a funny Darth Vader sound breathing - I looked at her looking at me and then we both laughed so hard. Yes, the snot fountain is flowing, "wow!" is about all I can say on that one. Besides sounding like Luke Skywalker's father and having Niagara Falls running out her nose, she's laughing right through it all - that's our girl!

Kelli, Madison, & Dylan

Today's adventure entailed a visit to Auntie Kelli's & Madison's house. Madison & Dylan did many laps around the house and out in their garden. Madison did so great wearing lil D out that Dylan was passed out in seconds upon our departure - nice work Madison.

Lazy Girl's Day

Today we had a surprise visit from our friend Diane. She joined right in on lazy afternoon in the backyard. Thanks for lunch Diane!

Chillin' w/Dylan

Today was a lazy day in the backyard. Neither of us felt like being in the house so we did one of D's favorite things - grabbed a blanket and laid under the Magnolia tree. It was fun and Dylan had some great stories to tell (she likes talking to the tree).

A Visit With Avery

Today Dylan's friend Avery came over with his mom and dad, Fon & Marvin. We had a great little hang out in the backyard. We laid the kiddo's out on a blanket and cracked up watching them interact with each other. Avery keep stroking Dylan's face and D checked out her new friend. So cute! And great to see Fon & Marvin!! Thanks for the Samosas.

A Playdate With Miles and Gia

The other day Dylan and I went over to Auntie Shannon's house for a little playdate with Miles and Gia, oh yeah, and Auntie Tiffany (not sure who the bigger kid is here). We had a great time. Dylan LOVES to play with Miles and GG, our visits are getting better the older Dylan gets as she's more interactive with her little buddies. Thanks for the photo's Shannon! 5 Months And Counting

Can't believe our Lil D is 5 months! Okay I think I said that at 4 but really I can't believe she's 5 months already! I'm sure we'll be saying the same thing when she's 18 and off to college or to travel the world.

D's been rolling over, drooling like mad, sucking down the milk, sleeping like a champ, and can't take her eyes off dad when he's in the room. She's been reaching out to pet Maggie and loves to laugh and play with her toys. Dylan also loves a good adventure, meeting new people, AND to be outside. She will lay out in the backyard under the Magnolia tree and talk up a storm for 10-15 minutes at a time. She loves to stand (with our help) and is just about sitting without any help. Doc cleared us to start her on real food - and boy is she ready, she's very curious about food. I've been researching up some good baby food recipes and we'll start her in the next day or so.... what should her first meal be?

We love you little monkey - happy 5 months!!!!

Playtime

Here's a few random pictures of Miss D playing.

Both Hands

Let's just say Dylan loves her food! She's been communicate with us about food - she has this funny way of telling us she's hungry, we call it ' baby bird'. Dylan knows when she wakes up she gets her diaper changed and then she gets fed. So now when I go in to get her up from a nap she smiles and then immediately opens her mouth real big indicating that she wants food - like a baby bird. She does the same when you hold a bottle in front of her - she smiles and then the mouth gets real big - it's hilarious. The doctor has given us the okay to start real food and our girl seems ready. She's been checking out our dinners for quite some time now. I stuck a little watermelon juice on her tongue the other day and she was reaching for more. Last night we were at Auntie Anne's house for dinner and I stuck a tad bit of guacamole in her month - her little face was like 'wow, that's very curious, wait that's really darn good' and then wanted more. Guess she's her mother's daughter. I love to sit Dylan in the kitchen and give her cooking lesson and she loves to watch - watch out Rachel Ray 'cause Little Dylan Ray is headed your way!!!

"Look mom both hands".

"Awe, now that was good".
