Anyone seen Kiki's Delivery Service? A super cute film if you haven't, which we have 6 times since receiving it - come on over, we're happy to watch it again. So today Asa grabs the broom from the garage, jumps on and starts running up and down the alley yelling "Kiki, Kiki". At one point even starts reaching out to me as if wanting me to give her a package to deliver.
Oh and the outfit (stripes, flowers, butterflies, and turquoise shoes), Asa's idea.

Sunday Bike Race, G-ma Melvene and Rick, and Despicable Me "Oh, Yeh"
It was a beautiful Fall Cyclocross race at Woodland Park on Sunday. The colorful leaves were all on the ground, tons of bikers of all ages, and a huge turn out for the kids race. Cousin Jackson came and did his first Cyclocross race and had a blast! After his race was D's. She was super excited to beat some boys. AND even more stoked to have a big cheer section that included Auntie Beans, Mom, Dad, Bridget and baby Poppy, and G-ma Melvene and her new husband, Rick!
It was all smiles until the line up then it was pure concentration! Pappa Matt was leading the kids race which Dylan loved. She was out to win!
Afterwards we had a nice visit with G-ma Melvene and Rick who came back to the house. There was tea, books, pumpkin cake, Hello Kitty's and paper dolls, AND even Donald Duck (Rick totally won D over with his impersonation - which he will now be doing every time she sees him!).
Later that afternoon Dylan and I headed up to our friends Akemi and Yumi's house for a little viewing of Despicable Me and a full on super yummy bagel bar - 'Oh Yeh!' (to quote Vector for those of you who have seen the movie - it's D's new favorite line).
Thanks to all who came to support and cheer our little racer on! It was an action packed day for sure. D's eye were shut before her head hit the pillow!

The Lorax - Dylan's First Big Movie
Oh boy, nothing like your first big screen movie! Even better with your best friend Sam and a few new fast friends. We were quite the troop at the matinee that day. Pappa Jeff, Momma Angela, Sam, their newborn, August, their friends Momma Stacey with new born, and two of her girls, Sam's G-ma & G-pa, and Dylan & me - we took up a whole row of seats.

The walked in the theater all holding hands.
The girls were all so excited and sat with anticipation in their seats. Dylan sat next to her 'new friend', Taylor who held her hand the entire movie.

Afterwards apparently someone was soooo tired from their exciting day.
It was great fun and D loved her first film - which had a great message, we both got home and really wanted to plant a tree.

Clifford - Who Knew?

The other night Matt, Dylan, and Maggie all went downstairs to watch a movie and give mom a little special alone time. Dylan's been into Clifford The Big Red Dog after seeing him on exhibit at the Children's Museum a few weeks ago, so Matt found a Clifford movie on Netflix to watch. (We just got a new projector system set up downstairs so it's really fun to watch stuff on the big screen plus Dylan loves curling up on the couch with Maggie). I'm upstairs getting some work done when I hear Dylan start crying - crying like something happened crying. I looked at the clock and noticed it was getting late, I figured she got bored of the movie and started climbing on something and got hurt. I resisted going downstairs to let Matt work it out but I kept hearing her cry. I was getting a little more concerned when I heard the troops coming up the basement stairs - Dylan still crying. I opened the door to find her red faced, alligator tears, arms reached out, and choking out the words "puppy, car, pppuuupppyy, ccar". She clearly was upset about something that happened in the movie. "Gosh, I thought, it's Clifford, what could be soooo traumatic?". I finally was able to get her to calm down 10 minutes later! It was past bedtime so i got her to bed but then you could see the wheels turning again and the thoughts of Clifford coming back into her little brain "pppupppppy, cccar". After a few more minutes of assuring her that Clifford was alright she fell asleep. I then went out and poor Matt, the look on his face, still trying to figure out what it was that upset her. We talked about the movie and what happened in it to make D so upset. Basically in a nutshell Clifford felt he needed to get a job to help buy dog food (you know cause he sooo big and eats soooo much) so he ran off and joined the circus. The owner of the circus was trying to sell Clifford and a few people from the circus were trying to rescue Clifford so they put him in a car to take him back to his family - this was the part where Dylan lost it. The movie had a happy ending, Clifford made it back to his family and got big hugs and kisses but apparently Dylan didn't see that part over all the tears. Poor thing - who knew?!
