Halloween 2014

Halloween night - always an exciting night around here! Dylan made plans to trick or treat with all the neighborhood kids, which was fun for about 5 minutes until they all started arguing about which direction they wanted to go.  Here's the girls in their costumes - Garden Gnome and Space Girl aka Asa and Dylan, in case you didn't recognize them.

Dylan loved her costume and took it very seriously as you can see here from her 'modeling'.

At first Asa wasn't sure what was up but was a good sport about putting on her costume - even kept the hat on.  She picked up on things very quickly and Dylan was very sweet in showing her the ropes.
"Hmmm, you mean if I look really cute and hold out my pumpkin bag these people will put candy in it.  I'm in!"

Halloween

Halloween started a few weeks early with a big bash at Little Gym. Dylan or should I say 'Jasmine' was so much on the move it was hard to get a good photo but here's one of her carrying Asa (who was dressed up as super baby).

Next we were on to the West Seattle Harvest Festival - Asa was dressed as a baby Babushka.

And Princess Jasmine was buying flowers with her Auntie Beans.

For Halloween treats Dylan made caramel apple treats and we delivered them to all her good friends.  Apparently they were a hit.

Then we were on to Trick or Treating in the Admiral district.  After wearing her costume and wig all day at school already we disposed of the wig and just went as a Ginie (although according to Dylan she was still Jasmine just with out the wig).

After several days of festivals, sweet treats, school dress up, it came the actual night of Halloween (that goodness, cause this momma was getting exhausted).  This year was a hoot with all our new neighbors moving in - all with kids.  A neighbor up the street had a pre-trick party.  The kids had a blast and then all headed out on the streets to do some Treating.

Here's Asa as Ninja Baby or perhaps a Cat Thief - don't let those sweet cheeks fool you the girls is fast as lightening.  Nothing is safe around her.

Halloween Extravaganza!

Oh how we stretched Halloween out this year!  There was the Little Gym Party Friday the 19th.  Lots of games and friends.

The next Friday evening I raced home from work and we hit the Admiral Scavenger Hunt - it was a little rainy but it didn't stop us!

Saturday was Sam's (across the street) 5th birthday dress up party.

The Rockin' Circle C's annual pumpkin carving and chili party - yes, as you can tell by the pictures it was a very wet evening but still tons of pumpkin carving fun.  Dylan was so proud of the pumpkin she and her dad carved!

Sunday was the Harvest Festival up at the junction.  This year they closed the street and there were tons of fun booths, lots of candy, and quite the melody of costumes.  Sorry no pictures from that day - but it was a hoot.

Then there was Halloween night!  Dylan's friend Sam showed up just as Dylan and her dad were about to leave - bonus!  So the gang all headed out together for some trick or treat fun.  Of course Pappa Matt taught Dylan to say "trick or treat smell my feet give me something good to eat" which was fun but since I figure some might not think so much I made her add please to the end.

Counting the loot at the end of the night.  It was save to say Tinkerbell had a lot of fun!

Soggy Pumpkin Girl

Another great pumpkin carving year at the Rockin' Circle C ranch - a little wet but one little girl had a great time AND was super proud of her little pumpkin!  Thanks for the photo Liz.

"Greetings Human, Trick or Treat, And Let Me Come Into Your Home"

Greeting from a space girl.....

It was an action packed extendo Halloween celebration over here at the Clark house. First off there was the costume party at Little Gym that Madison took Dylan to, then there was our neighbor Lil' Sam's birthday party followed by Trick or Treating up on California Street - where Dylan met Pooh.

Oh it was love at first sight! Then she took off running down the street to trick or treat. It was a beautiful day, which made for TONS of kiddos out and about. Dylan would spot different costumes and say 'hey momma, look a pirate, arrrrgh!', it was very funny.

Auntie Beans met up with us to help tag team the event - and thank goodness as it was a mad house! Jill's comment, which I loved, "thank goodness you dress her in something bright". We took her from store to store, some of the stores you had to actually go into which was a drag as being so small Dylan would push her way in, take 5 minutes (yes, 5 minutes) picking out just the right bite size piece of candy, giving me enough time to get into the store to round her up and shoo her out the door where Auntie Beans caught her at the other end - not sure what I would have done with out her! Dylan had a blast! So you could only imagine how excited she was to get dressed up all over again and hit the Halloween event on admiral Halloween afternoon. Here's a few videos. At the neighborhood bike shop they had a big old spider that would come down from the ceiling. At one point Dylan says she's scared as she's going back in to investigate. We were there for 15 minutes, the whole time Dylan yelling 'more, more, more. hey, come pet the spider'. The other video is of her again running down the street! Thank goodness Auntie Beans joined us again! At our last stop they had a free photo booth. The witch handing out candy asked Dylan if she wanted to get her picture taken, so we went in to take a look. The photographer asked d if she wanted to get her picture taken and very loudly she said 'no thanks, i've got to go.' Everyone had tears of laughter. As we hit the front door she changed her mind and actually really got into it, hence the first photo on the post.

Later that night I draped Dylan and Maggie with glow sticks to really go with the space theme. They looked great. When Matt got home from work we all headed out. Apparently Dylan thought that after you said 'trick or treat' to the neighbors they should let you into their home so you could check out EVERYTHING. After the 3rd neighbors house this happened at I took the dog home to pass out candy and let Matt handle the rest of the treating. HA! They didn't make it too far.

More Halloween pictures to come when I get them from Matt, he took some great ones.

Halloween 2010

The Friday before Halloween we took our little cowgirl up to the Admiral Junction as they were having a little hoo-ha or should I say boo-ha event for the kiddo's. It was one of those perfect fall afternoons and the kids were out in full force. Dylan caught onto the whole trick or treat thing in about 2 seconds running from store to store, distracting the shop owners with her ever so cute smile as she grabbed a handful of sweet treats and shoved them in her bag yelling 'bye'.

Here's a great shot of Dylan. We were waiting to cross the street - guess the light was taking too long as next thing we knew Dylan plopped down and started taking inventory of her bag. The light turned green and everyone started walking but Dylan just sat there in awe of her loot.
