Christmas 2014! A busy time of year for sure - just got done with Asa's birthday and boom right into Christmas. We are a little late in getting our tree up this year. Dylan's running the show for sure on decorating and showing Asa how it's done. I had to laugh as all the decorations were on the lower branches of the tree and then kept moving higher and higher as Asa kept wanting to play with them all and I would move them out of her reach. I'm sorry to say we had a few casualties but then again I guess that's going to happen with a curious 2 year old.
Here's a picture of how smart our little bugger is - I walked into the living room to find that she had tipped over a crate she had gotten from her room so that she could reach the ornaments. "See, Momma, See". So they all moved further up the tree.
Oh and have I mentioned someone has a sweet tooth? Here Asa's turned a pot upside down to get a little closer to the Ninja Bread Men cookies we made.
And here's one of just plain being her goofy little self that she is! Happy Holiday's ya all!

Happy "Two" Little Bean
Little Bean is "Two" today! We had a family pizza celebration at Stellar Pizza - thumbs up on turning two! And then over the weekend we had some good friends we hadn't seen for a while and their kiddo's come over for a Ninja Man Cookie Decorating Party - which was loads of fun!
Happy Birthday Little Bean - we LOVE you sooo much! And to quote Dylan "We are so happy you picked our family!" - couldn't have said it better myself!

Happy Vday
Happy Valentines Day! Dylan was very excited about V-day this year. All her classmates handed out Valentines, candy, and stickers. For a special treat Dylan made her classmates mini red velvet cupcakes. She so proudly decorated them herself.
For V-day I made Matt and Dylan a special breakfast. It got a few giggles.
Here's Asa in her cute V-day outfit from Cousin Stacey. She was so happy she's doing a little dance.
And here's Dylan so proud of her cookies she made her dad. For Christmas she gave him a cookie of the month club - this month it's peanut butter cookies with chocolate hearts. She did a really good job with them and was very proud! Of course she had to sample them before giving them to her dad (hence the cookie in her mouth smile below).
Love to all and to all a big heart (and a cookie if you come over)!

Gingerbread Cookies - Let The Holidays Begin
Last night we started the Holidays off with a family gingerbread bake off. Here's our mad little baker patting, rolling, and cutting the dough out...
We were getting really crazy with gingerbread men and women, elves, reindeer, squirrels, and even a slug bug or two....
This morning after a fine breakfast of crepes (thank you Matt!) we started the decorating fun.
It was oodles and oodles of fun!

Milk And Chocolate Chip Cookies
Last night Dylan and our lovely sitter, Olivia made chocolate chip cookies (along with nail painting, pizza eating, movie watching....). Olivia and Dylan make the best chocolate chip cookies! So good that Dylan decided to have milk and cookies for breakfast. Oh boy!

A Quick Visit With Gma Montana
A few weeks back Gma Montana took a road trip out with a few girlfriends. She was needing a little fix with her Grandkiddos. Oh boy the excitement was in the air for sure, Dylan could not wait for her 'special alone time' with Gma. It was a very busy couple of days, we barely left the house.
Do to the fact that we are in the mist of our basement remodel, our guest suite was out of commission but that wasn't going to slow Gma down from visiting. Matt and I gave Linda our bed and we slept on Dylan's floor, which we didn't mention to d when she went to sleep. Sometime during the night I hear a "mom" and then a lot of laughing as she figured out that her family was all crashed out on her floor. She quickly climbed down to our level and then proceeded to start chatting away. We then rolled her over towards Maggie so that she'd forget about us and chat Maggie's ear off. At some point everyone fell back asleep and we awoke to find Dylan and Maggie all cuddled up together.
After Matt left for work us girls got busy making gingerbread men & squirrel cookies. You could touch, smell, and feel the love in the kitchen that day. Here's the gals having tons of fun. Gma brought Dylan a very sweet little apron that D now insists on wearing every time we start cooking. Linda is probably not too happy with me posting pictures of her in her robe but the two of them were so so so sweet together that morning and I honestly can't tell you who had more fun.

Day two we finally made it out of the house to get some fresh air. It was a beautiful fall day!

Destination: Bakery Nouvous. "My favor spot mom" says Dylan, she just loves the macaroons.

Way too short of a visit with Gma!!!!

Dtv ~The Cookie Series
How do you bake a great batch of cookies you ask? Well Miss Dylan Childs is here to show you how in her 2nd cooking show.
"We're serious about our cookies over here at camp Clark. When my mom was pregnant with me she baked batch after batch of cookies (I think my Auntie Beans can actually tell you how many). So I guess you might say baking is in my blood. The only thing better than walking into a house filled with the delicious smell of cookies in the oven is taking a bite of one! Today I'm going to show you how to bake a scrumptious sprinkle cookie."
"Okay, so first you carefully remove the cookies from the container - sometimes it helps to use your spatula."
"Or sometimes it's easier to just get in there and use your hands. I personally like to be hands on things when baking."
"And I really take this serious!"
"Once you have your cookies out of the can arrange then on your cookie tray."

"Sometimes they stick to the can so I give them a good shake to get them out. For those of you wondering what's up with the doctor's kit it's for my new up coming show 'D-watch' or maybe I'll call it 'Doogie D MD' I haven't decided yet. It's also good kitchen safety to have a medical kit standing by."
"You want to make sure your oven is preheated to 350 degrees - and be careful it's very hot! I always warn my baby & rabbit before opening the oven door. AND I always wear my oven mitts!"

"Once you have the cookies in the oven bake for 7-9 minutes."
"That's just enough time to jump on your rocking horse for a quick rockka-rockka-roo."

"Awe Cookies are done! Now for the really fun part - EATING THEM!!! ~ enjoy."
"And the great thing about pretend cookies in a can is that you can repack the can for another fun filled day of baking! Thanks for joining me on another D-Tv baking series."

Our producers would like to thank Madison Murphy for all the great photos.
