"Give Me The Works"

Dylan decided she wanted to get her hair cut AND that she wanted to go see my gal Debbie.  After getting 'the works' Debbie put stripes AND flower hair clips in D's hair.  I'd say Debbie had one happy little customer that day!

The Works Please

The other day I went to get my hair styled, guess who wanted to come with?  Yup, Dylan decided she wanted to come see Debbie and get her hair done as well - she wanted to get all ready for the start of preschool.  So she and our lovely sitter, Olivia came on up (Debbie's salon is just up the street from our house).  Dylan climbed in the chair and asked for the works - ha!, she learns quickly.  So Debbie gave her the works.  First there was the washing of the hair, then Dylan decided to do a little fung shui of Debbie's shop.

Then it was time to start cutting - "just a trim please, and leave the bangs."  So that's what she got.

Having a little 'tea time' during the cut and cracking herself up.

After the cut it was time for the blow dry - Dylan wanted to do it herself until I explained getting the works means full on pamper treatment so she dropped it and sat back to enjoy her 'pampering'.

Awe, very cute!  Looks like she was very happy with 'her works', Debbie even put in pink and blue sparkly stripes which Dylan loved.

So pretty.  Thanks Debbie!

Here's To Bangs.

This afternoon Dylan decided to cut her own hair - yup, 'all by myself'.  When asked why she did it she said 'to get it out of my face.'  Luckily most of it was pulled back in a ponytail so she only got a little bit in the front - and when I say a 'little bit' there was still clumps of hair that I cleaned up off her bedroom floor.  After cooling down, I realized she actually didn't do such a bad job and I guess it will grow back.  So here's to bangs 'the new Fall' trend.

First Haircut

Today Dylan got her first hair cut. I think it was a little harder on me than her. I finally broke down as we were having sooooo many tangles and hair combing battles. I debated on cutting it myself or taking Dylan to my gal but then found a salon that does toddlers - who can beat this cool little fire engine? That's my girl sitting in a fire engine playing with barbies! You can keep the barbies away from the girl but you can't keep the girl away from the barbies!

"McBride" face - ha! Oh but wait did you say glitter?

Oh my gosh - glitter! The magic fairy dust, super duper cool. Goes good with her little pink sparklies that our friend Akemi tied in Dylan's hair. That was the one demand D had about cutting her hair and she even told the hair dresser - "please don't cut my pink sparklies.".

Reading is Fun

Here's a great little video Matt got of Dylan reading one of her favorite books. It's all about dogs and my favorite part (okay there are several) is when she says 'whoof' and her bangs blow up....

Who Needs Hair Products?

When you have mango, banana, yams, and raisins. Dang, Dylan might be on to something, as it seems to hold your hair in place like concrete, and smells good too!

34.5 Weeks In

On Monday we had our big ultrasound to see how things were progressing. It is always fascinating seeing into the womb and hearing the heartbeat. At this ultrasound, we were given a rare glimpse of our hairy little child. Yes, she's got long hair and no it is not on her back, I think. You could see her hair flowing in the amniotic fluid. It was crazy. The funny thing is when Christine was born, she had loads of long black hair. We're wondering if we'll need to nick name our child "Joey" after Joey Ramone or will it be "Fabio"? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Otherwise, everything is good to go. No problems, heart beat is good, she seems to be practicing her breathing and she's gaining weight just fine. No word on how big her head really is. Christine is hoping she doesn't have a big head like her fathers.
