Sunday Bike Race, G-ma Melvene and Rick, and Despicable Me "Oh, Yeh"

It was a beautiful Fall Cyclocross race at Woodland Park on Sunday. The colorful leaves were all on the ground, tons of bikers of all ages, and a huge turn out for the kids race. Cousin Jackson came and did his first Cyclocross race and had a blast! After his race was D's.  She was super excited to beat some boys. AND even more stoked to have a big cheer section that included Auntie Beans, Mom, Dad, Bridget and baby Poppy, and G-ma Melvene and her new husband, Rick!

It was all smiles until the line up then it was pure concentration!  Pappa Matt was leading the kids race which Dylan loved.  She was out to win!

Afterwards we had a nice visit with G-ma Melvene and Rick who came back to the house.  There was tea, books, pumpkin cake, Hello Kitty's and paper dolls, AND even Donald Duck (Rick totally won D over with his impersonation - which he will now be doing every time she sees him!).

Later that afternoon Dylan and I headed up to our friends Akemi and Yumi's house for a little viewing of Despicable Me and a full on super yummy bagel bar - 'Oh Yeh!' (to quote Vector for those of you who have seen the movie - it's D's new favorite line).

Thanks to all who came to support and cheer our little racer on!  It was an action packed day for sure.  D's eye were shut before her head hit the pillow!

Here's some pictures from a bike ride to the park that Matt & Miss d had.

And here's a little video of Dylan riding the rocking motorcycle - my favorite part is the little run at the end!

To The Park With Dad

The other day mom got a day off - yup the entire day Dylan spent with her Dad and as you can tell from the photo's there was some fun to be had. Here's some shots from their bike ride to Lincoln Park.

Here's a video of D rocking on a motorcycle but distracted from other kids playing nearby. My favorite part is the little run at the end - she has the cutest little run.

While Mom Was Gone

"It's been a crazy couple of weeks, first my mom was gone for a week down in Ashland, OR working, then we had a house full of guests for my dad's birthday, then my dad went to Great Falls, MT to work on a project, and THEN our good friend Diane came to stay. Boy, it sure is good to have my family back! Here's some shots while my mom was away."

"Here's me and Madison having a grand ol' time. Madison is tons of fun, we like to play together."

"Here I am enjoying a snack and coloring - boy, I love to color."

"One night I helped my dad change his bike tire. I'm getting the hang of it."

"Here's my dad and I at the grocery store shopping for dinner."

"It doesn't look like I'm having fun but really you should have heard me scream with delight the whole way home."

"Breakfast and Baby Signing Times."

"Madison and I getting ready to go for a walk. Hat, check, boots, check, snack, check - let's go I'm all ready."

"Here's a shot from Pajama Day. You know those days you just wanna stay in your jammies all day, well, this was one of those days. It was super fun and comfy."

"Dad and I fixing dinner. I sure love to cook - I gave him a lesson or two, you know, since mom was gone."

"And here's a video at our friend Jason's house. I got to go over and play with him, his boys Jasper and Eli, and their dog Chester. Apparently we had a last minute babysitting fluke and Jason stepped in to help out. It was tons of fun."

A Bike Ride to Lincoln Park

D and I just got back from a 10 mile bike ride around West Seattle. We made a pit stop at Lincoln Park to stretch our legs. 10 miles isn't very long considering the 130 miles ratpod is but it's something and you have to give me credit for pulling a trailer the whole way - up hills and all - right? Dylan loved it and was great the whole trip.

I just downloaded a new camera app on on my i-phone which I was playing with. Makes some cool effects!

Getting Ready For Ratpod - A Race Around Town

Me and my girl at the library.

Today we had a break in our rainy weather so Dylan and I took full advantage of it and got out for our first training ride for RATPOD. RATPOD is a ride that Matt and I have been doing for years now to raise money for Camp Mak-A-Dream - it's an amazing camp that provides a cost free, super fun experience for kids, teens, and women with cancer. For one week they come from all over the globe to Montana and meet others going through the same experience they are. And for that week they get to forget they are sick and just have a good time. If you are interested in learning more about Camp Mak-A-Dream visit their website at www.campdream.org. And if you are interested in making a donation - http://www.firstgiving.com/christineclark2

This year RATPOD is June 26th. Coming up you say, yea, uh, I know! I'm a little behind in training - like uh, well, okay to this point I haven't trained at all. So today I loaded up our new bike trailer with water, snacks, toys and little d and off we went. We buzzed all over West Seattle running errands - library, bike shop, post office. Dylan had a great time - singing and waving the whole way. She was even a trooper as at one point I turned around to find her helmet had slipped over her eyes - she just kept singing along.

First Family Bike Ride

Today after the clouds parted and the sun came out, we went for our first family bike ride.

Bike helmet, sunglasses, water bottle - check.

Get hydrated before heading out - check.

Load up - check. snacks, water bottle... - check, check.

Alright here we go....

And I take it from the smile still on her face that she loved it, although dad could have gone faster.
