Arts And Crafts

One of our favorite winter time activities - arts and crafts. I discovered the best thing (I wish I would have thought of this) - it's called Kiwi Crate. Great tip for all you mom's out there reading - Kiwi Crate is delivered to your doorstep monthly - it's basically a lovely little green box (Dylan now waits for it's arrival) that is packed full of two + craft projects, along with all supplies needed, stickers, cards describing projects along with questions to educate on the months craft topic. For instance last month was space theme - we got a planet mobile to paint and put together and make your own rockets (hard to tell who in the family had more fun with that one). There were fabulous question and answer cards talking about space and additional suggestions on how to stretch the theme out and make a few other crafts with the extra supplies given. It's been a savor this winter - we love you Kiwi Crate!

Oh The Fun That Was Had

...today while Momma was away. Madison and Dylan bought some face paints and went to town. Is that my daughter or do we now own a kitty? Ha! They had a great time and I got a good laugh! That Madison is always thinking of the best stuff to do! The other day I asked Dylan "What do you want to do today with Madison?" and all on her own she says "Go shopping and get my nails done". Talk about a good laugh!!!!

G-ma Montana And The Children's Museum

What a fun day we had at the Children's Museum showing G-ma Montana all around. First was the playdough.

Then painting. Dylan made her first painting!

Then we went over to the International living section. Dylan was right at home in the kitchen.

Sushi soup - oh yum - not!

Then we were off to the big climbing tree to explore bugs, trees, the camping tent & slide...

Then we ran through the reading room - no time for books today, there is too much to do.

Here's G-ma getting Dylan ready to go put out some fires.

All ready to go.

Then a visit to the tool department. Of course we had to get in full costume to play in this department.
G-ma teaching Dylan all about nuts and bolts.

Well then we got hungry to we went to the taco making exhibit for some fake tacos.

After our fake taco lunch we went grocery shopping. Dylan loves this exhibit most of all (and I think her mom does as well).

Dylan loves the bread section. I think especially just being in Paris.

She loaded up her cart with all kinds of breads and pastries - all fake thank goodness!

Carts all full now it's time to check out - hope you brought your wallet Dylan.

An Artist Is Born

Who knew a dry erase board could be hours of entertainment? Well miss D had a hayday. She walked in the door one evening to find it leaning up against the kitchen cupboards, she didn't even have time to take off her coat before she was 'kai-ing', as she calls coloring, away.

Finally took the coat off and worked up a thirst.

The next morning she was off and drawing.

G-ma Montana was coming at the end of the week and I had been prepping Dylan for her arrival. We had been working on saying Grandma as a surprise. Since I was down in Ashland working I asked Madison to work on it with Dylan. Madison being the fabulous sitter that she is had Dylan not only saying Grandma in 6 different languages but also writing Grandma in two (at least that was our joke). Madison held up her bargain and Dylan was shouting out Gandma (yes, I meant Gandma) upon her arrival.

(And yes, for those noticing that is a ponytail!).

Watch out we have a new Picasso amongst us!
