Kiddo~palooza

Oh boy, what a day we had. Holy kidapalooza batman!!!! It was like an old re-union - Gia, Miles, and Avery came over for a playdate. It had been ages since we've all gotten together. It was great fun and the age difference between all the kiddo's seems to be reducing. They all had a great time pretend cooking, reading, playing, eating, playing, chasing Maggie, and playing some more. Good times were had by all - there was even a pacifier exchange.

Miles and Gia came over first. They were greeted at the door with a big smile from Dylan and then instantly whisked over to the coffee table for some pretend latte making fun - everyone got a cup and a spoon. Let's just say there were some mean fake lattes happening - mine was delicious.

"Hi Gia, wanna play?"

"Okay, let's make some lattes, the big people will love them."

"Okay so you stir and stir and stir...."

".... and stir...."

"You got it Gia."

"So now after stirring and mixing we sample our goods..."

Miles has moved on to the minnie Maggie dog.

Dylan is still sampling while Miles is making a phone call.

Now the game has turned to chase Maggie, although Maggie is trying to nap.

"Okay, now I'm going to push you Miles, in my really cool wagon. Hang on."

The girls at the snack bar refueling for the next adventure.

In enters Avery who is instantly handed a spoon. "Hello Avery and welcome to my house. We are play cooking, here's a spoon for you to join along."

Avery and his mom Fon.

Avery and Dylan having a dance break. They were grooving it big time.

Gia LOVED Dylan's rocking horse!

Avery getting into pretend cooking.

A precious moment between two friends.

Momma C and G hanging out together.

The farmer in the Dell, the farmer in the Dell....

Tube time.
"Come on Avery, it's fun."

"That's it! Nice job."

Awe, so much fun!

Dylan showing the gang all her hard work out in the garden.

Avery took to Maggie quite well - or was it the other way around.

Oh boy the freezer ~ so cold and so much fun.

Another precious moment between friends.

Thanks everyone for coming and playing - it was a super fun time.

Saying Goodbye To Our Friend Lisa

On Saturday we attended a memorial service for our friend Lisa Thompson who passed away to Ovarian cancer. It was a beautiful service - very sad but also so great to see all the support and love of friends and family in one room. Lisa is no longer with us but she will still be with us in our hearts and thoughts. We love you Lisa! Thank you for the brief time we had together, you were a rare and amazing person.

During the service Dylan and Matt took a walk - Dylan had to stretch her legs. Matt got a great shot of d out on the grass deep in thought - I think she was having her own quiet moment saying goodbye to Lisa.

Here's a few great shots of Lisa and Dylan from a picnic we had over the summer. Lisa was really good at making kids laugh - and adults too for that matter.

Playing Ball

Here's some shots of a little game of ball we played today. Dylan watched us playing ball with Maggie so now she thinks this is how the game is played. I'm just going with it, who says it can't be played this way.

A Visit With Great Auntie Doris

Well let the fun times begin! Or maybe I should say let the laughs begin!! A few weeks ago we were very honored by a visit from my aunt Doris - d's great auntie D. Doris (as I never really did call her aunt) is only 8 years older and was always more like a big sister to me than an aunt. When I was growing up she'd come out every summer. We had a lot of fun together and I always looked forward to her visits. So now that my cousins are both away at college, Doris decided to come out from Philly for her Spring break and get some lil d time. We only had her for a very short week and boy did it pass by quickly! She and Dylan had the best time together, they played and played and played some more. Doris bought Dylan a play ice cream set which lil d hasn't stopped carrying around - now everyone that walks in the house gets an ice cream cone (a true McBride at heart). It was really great having you out Doris ~ please come back anytime!!!!! We love you!!!!!

A beautiful day out in the garden.

Dylan loved feeding Doris.

Pike Place Market - Dylan LOVES people watching. She waved and greeted everyone that walked by.

A girls lunch at Etta's.

Dylan's favorite - playing in the garden.

And watering plants.

AND her new ice cream set. Cones for everyone!

A visit from Nan (Anne).

No time to stop and eat - so busy, busy, busy.... eat and run.

Everywhere we go Dylan makes friends. One day we met Matt at his office and all walked to Fremont for lunch. Doris had never had Thai so we headed over to Jai Thai - within 3 minutes Dylan had all the ladies from the kitchen singing, laughing, and playing with her. In about 4 she had several other staff members gathered around. Very comical. And this isn't the first time this has happened.

For Auntie Doris's last night we went down to La Rustica, our favorite Italian restaurant down on Beach drive. While waiting for our table we went across the street to a little beach for a few last photo opts. Oh and by the way my aunt really is that short - just kidding!

Me and my girl.

Oh what we will do for a good laugh.
