A Visit With Nee And Nan

Nicknames are already starting to happen. Dylan has named Auntie Anne Nan and Auntie Tiffany is now Nee. Sounds like the makings of a good kid's book series - The Adventures of Nee and Nan. Here's some shots of our visit to Nan's house.

Early Hand Modeling.

Oh boy it's Nee with Nan busy cookin' in the background.

Poor little Pookie, all tired out from a big visit.

Video Failure!

Not sure why the video part of the blog isn't working ~ it's on the blog site's end. They said they are working on it, hopefully they will fix it soon. Sorry, keep checking back.

Soo Busy!

This is just a glimpse at our days around here. This particular day was Valentine's Day, but you probably guessed that because a) you read the earlier entries or b) she's wearing red and the cute heart shoes. Either way, I'm sure you'll enjoy it just the same.

Oh, you also get to see poor Maggie just a couple of days after dental surgery and tooth extraction. Her little cheeks were kind of puffy and she was on pain meds. It didn't help matters much that she had a little rug rat pulling on her ears and climbing on her, but she is so very patient. She gets an award for dog patience.

Vday

Here's some shots just in from dad of Valentines day. You can dress them up real cute but they will still be up to mischief - like pulling poor Maggie's ear and unsetting a brunch table.... Happy first V-day D! We love you.

Daphne Odora

or not so adora as we found out last night. Who knew these beautiful, yummy smelling flowers that are blooming all over right now (one of my favorites) are highly poisonous. You can see where this is going. Yes, last night we made our first call to poison control! All is fine, Dylan is good, and we are all back to breathing!

Last night at dinner, while I had my back turned fixing her next round of food, D reached over and grabbed a little bowl with a cluster of Daphne. I heard her choking and turned around to find the water gone (think she drank it). I quickly checked her mouth to find a flower (they are small thank goodness) in her mouth, which I quickly removed. I noticed two of the small pedals where missing. I immediately got on the phone with poison control to explain what happened. I was informed that the plant was highly poisonous (great) and I should watch Dylan for burning, redness, and sores in the mouth. Of course she was crying all through the call, which the operator asked about, I told her she's crying because a) she's teething and was awoken early from her nap by Maggie barking and b) because I just had crammed my hand down her throat! As I removed Dylan's bib I discovered one of the missing two pedals (good just down to one small pedal!). I thanked the operator for her help but then was ready to smack her as her last words were "Try not to let this happen again". Uh, duh! Like I meant for it to happen in the first place!

I gave Dylan a bath and let her suck on a washcloth. Before bed I checked her out throughly and then so a few times during the night. She woke up smiling and today seems to be her perfectly happy self. THANK GOD!

Bathroom Fun

Things are getting crazy adventuresome over here! Everyday brings more new finds. This morning's adventure was a complete exploration of our bathroom. D checked out all the plumbing, loved unraveling the toilet paper, tipped over the garbage can, and was all over opening the cabinets! It's getting hard to keep up with all the fun.

Upon seeing these pictures, Dylan smiled, pointed, and said (twice!) dyin.

Volunteer Park w/ Nan

Yesterday was a beautiful Seattle day - the sun was out, the flowers are starting to bloom, and our good friend Anne aka Nan wasn't working. So we packed up the stroller and headed to Volunteer Park. There is a great conservatory there which was fun to walk through and show Dylan all the pretty flowers.

All bundled up for our walk.

Hanging out with Nan.

Watch out she's a quick grab. Just like that Anne's sunglasses were off her face.

Posing by a beautiful lemon tree.

"Yeah". Super duper fun!

After all the fun we headed over to Boom Noodles for a little Girl's lunchie~pooh. It was a great way to end a fabulously fun day at the park.

When we got home I downloaded the pictures onto my computer. One of the pictures with Nan popped up on my screen. Dylan saw it and instantly started smiling and pointing to the screen as she said 'Nan'.

No Kids Were Actually Harmed In The Making of This...

....we think. We will let you know later after the bruises develop. Should have sold tickets to the kiddo loven' smack down here this morning. Good times for sure!

After all that we all had a picnic on the kitchen floor. The kids had worked up an appetite.

Baby Proofing

Our little monkey is all over the place. No one warned us of a) how fast these little people are, b) when the room is quiet there is mischief brewing, and c) how they just know all the places they shouldn't get into. The other day I was in the kitchen getting D's dinner together when it got real quiet in the living room. So I go in there to find Dylan waist deep in soot! When I grabbed her I realized she had a mouthful as well. Then there was the time I was washing dishes and she quietly opened up the cupboard below the sink. When I looked down she had gotten Maggie's glucose vitamins open and was popping them like they were candy or in Dylan's case Cheerio's. Well at least her joints will be strong, right?! Argh! I can safely say our house is somewhat parent proof now. Yes, I said parent proof as I can't get into any of our cupboards! Maybe I should ask Dylan to show me how. Little monkey.
