This past weekend was the West Seattle Street Festival and you should have heard the shrieks coming from one little girls mouth when she caught wind that Caspar Babypants was performing Friday night! So after work we quickly had dinner and headed up the street. It didn't take long for Dylan to wiggle her way to the front of the toddler moshpit - yes, that's her front and center with the big ol' smile on her face.
After a few songs the moshpit decided to rush the stage - and look out toddlers everywhere!
Dylan was in all her dancing glory! Big smile on her face the entire time. A few times she came and found me to tell me what song Caspar was playing, just in case I wasn't paying attention. Later that night Matt caught up with us and Dylan says to him "Dad, I just saw my favorite performer ever!".

Noodles In The Park
The other night we had a beautiful picnic at Lowman Beach for Auntie Bean's birthday. We hadn't even found a spot to settle down at when Dylan had already met a new friend, Luke. Dylan was torn between eating and playing with Luke, who happened to be 3 as well. Dylan tried to invite Luke to eat with us (that's my girl) but he wasn't hungry - just wanted to play. So she decided to do both and the same time. The kiddo's played chase and kick ball for a few, then D would run to the blanket and suck down some noodles then jump up and run after Luke some more. At one point D came running over to us as Luke was standing by himself crying his eye out. We asked Dylan what happened and she said "Oh, I left him.". And then we heard Luke say really loud to his mom - "She left me!". Breaking hearts already at such a young age. But soon all was forgotten and the chase was back on. Luke then started tackling Dylan and took her down a little abruptly. D wasn't hurt but the look on her face was one of shock (see, she's usually the one taking the boys down) so we all laughed it off and I yelled "steam roller!" which changed everything! The kiddos had a blast and Matt and I got to spend some time with Auntie Beans. Later we all went home to a delicious chocolate cake that D and her sitter, Olivia picked out - it even said "Happy Birthday Auntie Beans".
Happy Birthday Auntie Beans, we love you!!!!!
Water Taxi's & Ferris wheels, Oh My
Oh what fun was had the other day! Our good friend, Kristie took Dylan on quite a fun adventure. First they hit the water taxi from West Seattle to Downtown. Dylan loved it! She told me all about the white waves, how fast the boat went, and the wind blowing on her hair. They were dropped off down at the waterfront downtown which just happened to be real close to the new ferris wheel! Oh Dylan spotted it month ago from the West Seattle bridge during construction "Hey mom, look at ferris wheel! But it doesn't have any buckets.". Then it was "Hey mom, look the ferris wheel has buckets, can we go on it please, please, please!". So you could only imagine how Kristie made her day! Especially come to find out that Kristie doesn't like heights - so she really took one for the team, team Dylan that is. Thanks Kristie!!!!

Happy Inde-poop-dance Day!
Best Day EVER!!!! Today was number 5 of 5 poops in the potty!!!! It's been a HUGE ordeal over here and today was a big morning so we're calling it Inde-poop-dance day! We went from being absolutely petrified to going to Dylan saying to me "I feel poop-poops coming. I think I need to be alone for this. Hey mom, come see my beautiful poops!". Yes, we screamed, danced, and lots of hugs of achievement! Now Dylan says "Hey mom, I'm so proud of myself, I'm not scared now. AND guess what now, I can go to school!".
As promised, after 5 poops Dylan got her 'super big surprise'. Old school fisher price parking garage just like the one her mom had growing up! Let's just say it's been extremely quiet in the livingroom for several hours now. GREAT JOB DYLAN, we are sooo soo sooo proud of you!
